NURA is Hiring a Sous Chef Near Brooklyn, NY
We're a restaurant who believes that indiviuals thrive best when in a space they are supported, respected and treated fairly. Our menu is seasonal and we utilize as much local produce and proteins as possible when creating dishes. We're looking for someone with the leadership skills to help motivate and create a healthy team dynmaic on a daily basis.
The Sous Chef works directly with the Executive Chef to ensure excellence in the kitchen, uphold standards and oversees prep cooks, line cooks and their stations. Applicants must have attention to detail, eagerness to learn, grow, and willingness to work within a team.
What we are looking for:
- 2 years of Sous Chef experience in similar environment
- Scheduling, inventory and purchasing experience necessary
- Understanding of all stations, techniques, product and standards
- Food Handler’s Card and in-depth knowledge of DOH procedures required
- A passion for cooking, a desire to create a healthy work environment, and the ability treat people with kindness and respect.
- Strong communication and organization skills
